Paper Sculptures

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Recently I purchased the Cricut March Digital Mystery Box and have enjoyed playing with some of the images this week. I am loving the 3D SVG images from Dreaming Tree. Today I am sharing my projects.

The design is for a 12" x 12" shadowbox. I had two 9" x 9" white shadow boxes which I purchased last year just because they were on sale! Does anyone else do that?? Well, they were still being unused so I sized the images to fit in the 9" x  9" boxes. I used Colorbok white paper and of course, I had to have some pink! Craft Smith Wedding Neutrals pink paper is used for the background.

Cricut Cartridges:
Dreaming Tree Springtime Gifts - Butterfly Paper Sculpture is cut  26.54"wide x 8.25" high.
Also from the same digital cartridge - Hummingbird Paper Sculpture is cut 28.592" wide x 8.25".

Hummingbird Paper Sculpture

For the 3D effect, the project requires the use of pop-dots (foam pads). I also added some pink gemstones. I will hang these in my craft room. These projects would make awesome gifts too.

The projects go together pretty quickly. But trying to take a decent photo to share turned out to be a big deal! The photo does not capture all the 3D effects.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Rainy Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

What do you do on a rainy afternoon? After seeing the news about the Curve Text feature in Cricut Design Space, I played with my Cricut! This is a wonderful feature that a lot of people have been requesting! Thanks Cricut!! I think the little Umbrella bug is the cutest little fellow!

Cricut Cartridges:
Creative Holiday Cards - Rectangle card is cut 8.50" x 5.50" from blue Recollections cardstock.
White layer mat is cut 4" wide x 5.25" high.
Using the Cricut Font Dear John and the Curve Text feature, the words were manipulated as I wanted them and then attached to the white mat. Words are written with the Cricut Midnight pen.
Blue patterned mat is cut 4.12" wide x 5.37" high.
Cricut Decals - Umbrella bug is cut 2.766" wide x 2.299" high. This cartridge came with the purchase of the Expressions 2 machine.
Disney Pooh and Friends - Rain cloud. I cut extra raindrops.

Dash marks are added with Gelly white pen.

St. Patrick's Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It does look as though Spring is on its way to my area. We have had lots of rain but the last few days have been gorgeous sunshine days! I have been busy working in flower beds so not much time with the Cricut machine.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna Griffin Seasonal Soirees - St. Patrick's Day Bag is cut 10.25" wide x 6.771" high from green Recollections cardstock. The St. Patrick's Day Doily is cut 3" wide from white cardstock and a second shade of green cardstock.
Cricut Font Chloe - St. Patrick's Day is written with the Cricut Lt. Green 0.4 tip pen on the white layer of the doily.

To finish the treat bag, I added a crinkle ribbon bow. Candy will be added inside for the recipient.
